Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist I
About The Position
National Bankruptcy Services (NBS), headquartered in Dallas, Texas, has been delivering innovative, compliant bankruptcy servicing solutions since 1999. We proudly support some of the nation's largest and most respected lenders by combining industry expertise with technology-driven solutions. We're seeking a detail-oriented Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist I to join our growing team. In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of Chapter 7 bankruptcy accounts, review case documentation, prepare reaffirmation agreements, and work closely with clients, attorneys, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate case management.
Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of professional work experience
- Bachelor's degree may be considered in lieu of experience
- At least 1 year of consumer bankruptcy and/or consumer lending experience
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of consumer bankruptcy accounts from referral through closure
- Conduct initial legal review and prioritization of new bankruptcy referrals
- Monitor court dockets and case activity to identify required attorney action
- Prepare and process reaffirmation agreements
- Track payment delinquencies and account status changes
- Request, review, and organize documents from courts and clients
- Communicate with attorneys, clients, vendors, and internal teams regarding assigned files
- Enter and maintain accurate information across multiple systems
- Provide customer support by handling approximately 5-10 inbound calls per day
- Ensure files are updated, compliant, and closed in a timely manner
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
