Requirements

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Must pass a clerical examination.
• Must submit to and pass a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• One year of job related experience in government accounting or business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting taxpayers in person, by phone or through written correspondence with all matters involving property tax.
• Processing large amounts of paperwork in compliance with deadlines established by state statutes.
• Processing tax payments.
• Preparing tax statements and receipts.
• Preparing deposit slips for pickup.
• Processing returned checks.
• Maintaining refunds, revenue deposits and recordings, sewer billing, Liquor and Amusement licenses and Mortgage Company billings.
• Posting contract payments on delinquent land tax.
