About The Position

The Consumer Bank Insights & Incentives Analyst is responsible for the administration and validation of the Retail Banking scorecard, ensuring that metrics, rules, and payout calculations align with the documented plan design. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end integrity of incentive plans, including confirming accurate credit posting, validating tracking logic for metric attainment, and ensuring correct application of attribution rules. Key duties also include investigating and triaging scorecard defects, partnering with data teams for logic improvements, leading UAT and regression testing, and monitoring for scorecard design vulnerabilities. The position requires creating and maintaining comprehensive scorecard documentation and delivering clear stakeholder communication on performance, issues, and governance decisions, while also supporting periodic plan governance activities.

  • Working knowledge of incentive scorecards, sales performance metrics, and/or retail banking KPIs.
  • Proficiency in data validation and controls (e.g., reconciliations, sampling plans, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; ability to interpret and work with Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Ability to translate business plan rules into test cases, validation scripts, and repeatable controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills--able to communicate complex logic clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with high attention to detail.
  • High integrity and sound judgment when identifying and escalating unintended behaviors or control gaps.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and validate the Retail Banking scorecard on a recurring cadence (e.g., monthly/quarterly), ensuring metrics, rules, and payout calculations align to documented plan design.
  • Oversee incentive plan integrity end-to-end, including: Confirming credit posting occurs accurately and consistently. Validating tracking logic for metric attainment (e.g., thresholds, caps, accelerators, prorations). Ensuring attribution rules (employee/branch/market) are applied correctly.
  • Perform independent reconciliations and reasonability checks across source systems, reporting layers, and scorecard outputs to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain control checks (automated and manual) to identify anomalies such as unexpected spikes, missing credits, duplicate credits, late postings, and out-of-pattern performance changes.
  • Investigate and triage scorecard defects (logic, data mapping, timing, eligibility rules), documenting root cause, impact, and recommended correction.
  • Partner with the data team that built/maintains the scorecard to assess, test, and improve logic; contribute to requirements and validation for enhancements and fixes.
  • Lead/participate in UAT and regression testing for scorecard changes, ensuring changes do not introduce unintended outcomes or break prior functionality.
  • Monitor for scorecard design vulnerabilities and unintended behaviors: Identify behaviors that maximize incentive outcomes without delivering intended business value. Quantify impact and recommend rule changes, guardrails, or controls. Escalate recurring or material patterns of concern to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain scorecard documentation (metric definitions, rule logic, control framework, known issues log, release notes).
  • Develop and deliver clear stakeholder communication (business leaders, operations, compensation, data/analytics) on scorecard performance, issues, fixes, and governance decisions.
  • Support periodic plan governance activities: metric performance reviews, rule interpretation clarifications, exception handling, and audit readiness.
