American Tree Medics Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester for Routine and Special Projects. This role involves working in various locations, potentially in District 50 (Shaver lake) or as a Roving Forester across Northern California.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of arboriculture experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • A clean driving record (DMV printout required).
  • Proficient in operating a 4x4 vehicle on rough and narrow roads.
  • Willingness to travel. (Travel is not guaranteed but highly likely.)
  • Lodging and per diem paid for all overnight travel.
  • Capability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with major electric utility systems to inspect rights of ways and utility infrastructure, identifying vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulations.
  • Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps, and use GPS navigation.
  • Communicate with landowners regarding necessary work on their properties.
  • Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions.
  • Coordinate with project managers, planners, and vegetation crews.
