About The Position

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to join their team. This role involves contributing to vegetation management planning and analysis, utilizing innovative technology, inspecting right-of-ways, identifying tree and brush control work, collecting data, and coordinating with various stakeholders. The position offers the opportunity to work outdoors and grow a career in the utility and environmental services industry within one of the largest employee-owned companies in the nation.

Requirements

  • Love of the outdoors and the ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather.
  • Ability to read and follow GIS data and maps; ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, meeting deadlines, and technical innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability and desire to travel throughout the utility service area (Marietta, Woodsfield, Barlow).
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain pipeline operator specific licenses.
  • Organizational skills; working knowledge of computers and programs, file creation, manipulation, and sharing.
  • Utility Right of way vegetation experience, tree crew foreman experience or other related experience.

  • ISA certification, ISA Utility Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Successfully contribute to all aspects of vegetation management planning and analysis.
  • Utilize innovative technology and practices to help major pipeline utility providers deliver safe and reliable power and maintain national security.
  • Inspect and assess vegetation in right-of-ways for compliance standards and maintenance work plans.
  • Identify tree and brush control work and coordinate with land owners for crew access.
  • Collect data and document work using hand-held computers; assess terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions, & support IVM projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Planners, and Vegetation Crews to create customized solutions.
