About The Position

The Consulting Actuary will assist with the actuarial portion of financial examinations and other regulatory projects. The role is part of a team of actuaries, including Senior Consulting Actuaries and analysts. Depending on the project, the Consulting Actuary may oversee analysts, coordinate assignments with the lead actuary, communicate with regulatory clients, and peer review certain work performed by another credentialed actuary. As consulting work volume fluctuates, the role may also support health or property and casualty projects. Other tasks may be assigned by the Senior Managing Director or Director of the actuarial team. Work is anticipated to be completed remotely, with no travel required. This is a salaried role available for full-time work; applicants interested in part-time or contract work are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• ASA or near-ASA.
• 4–8 years of actuarial experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat PDF.
• Strong writing skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Regulatory consulting experience.
• Experience with asset adequacy analysis.
• Experience with principles-based reserves.
• Knowledge of TeamMate+.
