Requirements

  • An experienced healthcare communications consultant with a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in public relations, medical communications or scientific communications.
  • Drafting scientific or communications strategies and solutions aligned to the client’s objectives
  • Leading strategic / scientific communications projects from inception to final delivery
  • Drafting communications / scientific content (e.g. narratives, scientific platforms, messaging, senior leader presentations, articles, social content)
  • Working as part of a team with the ability to effectively delegate up and down
  • Effective client engagement and management
  • Effective time management, balancing workload and deadlines
  • Accurate budget planning and management
  • Keeps up to date with factors influencing the pharma and biotech sectors (including M&A activity, pharma corporate innovation strategy and the various industry head- and tail-winds).
  • Engages in industry “scanning” and maintains a strong current knowledge of industry opportunities and developments and our clients’ operating environment.
  • Aware of new and important product launches, pivotal clinical studies, new guidance, legislation and policies of relevance.
  • Has a strong working knowledge of the science covering our clients’ areas of focus (tailored to the client account that a person is working on).
  • Has an ongoing commitment to deepening and expanding knowledge in modalities, modes of action, epidemiology, clinical trial design and anything else that may be relevant to strategic planning and advice, both from the point of view of the client and their competitor environment.
  • Understands the role of strategy in reference to client goals and objectives.
  • Beginning to understand theoretical approaches and models used in strategy and communications consulting and starting to apply these to a client challenge.
  • Understands the fundamental principles of healthcare marketing and communications.
  • Demonstrates a strong capability in public relations, medical education or scientific communications.
  • Understands means of evaluation and KPIs across communications channels.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains excellent relationships with clients and provides ongoing consultation and counsel, with the support of Arc Bio senior team.
  • Clearly owns and takes responsibility for allocated client projects.
  • Develops strong and effective scientific and/or corporate communications strategies and programmes in service of client objectives.
  • Demonstrates effective project planning and management ensuring projects are delivered as agreed.
  • Anticipates and proactively highlights project challenges to senior Arc Bio team and clients bringing potential solutions to the table.
  • Produces accurate budget estimates and controls budgets efficiently and carefully while keeping clients and team fully informed.
  • Presents well through ideas and concepts with confidence and conviction.
  • Effectively adapts communication style to suit different audiences and to gain buy in.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop others and provide direction and feedback tailored to skill level of team members.
