About The Position

As a Consultant for the US Operational Risk Management (ORM) Testing Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and overseeing the quality assurance process for US ORM Programs. You will monitor and provide oversight of the first line of defense through outcome-based testing, conduct independent risk reviews, and drive process improvement initiatives. This role requires providing expert guidance and support to first line of defense teams, ensuring robust operational risk and control frameworks across people, technology, processes, and external events.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, or quality assurance, ideally within financial services.
  • Advanced proficiency in developing and analyzing reports, dashboards, and metrics related to control effectiveness and risk management.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CRISC, CISA) is an asset.
  • Experience with compliance related technology tools, data analytics, or automation (e.g. SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create high-quality reports and presentations for executive audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality assurance testing across US Operational Risk Management Programs which include the RCSA, CIRA, and incident reporting to validate adherence to established methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct assessment of control population and control testing results to provide insights and identify potential control gaps.
  • Consult and advice on test design and effectiveness, and provide recommendations, observations, and/or findings on control test results and control population enhancements in accordance with GOERM methodology and guidelines.
  • Lead targeted risk reviews of business areas to identify potential risks as well as analyze actualized risks to determine their root cause, weaknesses in controls and gaps in processes, and document observations and findings to provide the first line of defense teams.
  • Support the development and enhancement to internal US ORM testing team procedures, intake forms, and supplementary guidelines.
  • Apply advanced AI knowledge to drive efficiency in analytical work, including US ORM QA processes and oversight of first line of defense control activities.
  • Design and deliver reporting on US ORM QA and control testing results, themes and observations in order to provide management transparency and facilitate program enhancements.
  • Prepare high quality workpapers for management and other stakeholders to evidence testing approach and conclusions as well as contribute to ongoing management and executive level reporting.
