About The Position

The Sales and Use Tax Consultant works with a team to identify tax savings opportunities for clients and understand how clients compute each component of sales and use tax. The role involves researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. Taxing authorities verify the issues, and the Consultant assists the team with that process. The position contributes to Ryan’s People, Client, and Value key results by creating a positive team experience; responding to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities; reviewing documentation and researching issues; working with raw data to complete calculations; and drafting filings such as petitions for redetermination, refund claims, and other administrative replies. The Consultant travels to client locations to gather and copy tax returns, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation for the audit refund process. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
