This role goes beyond analysis to deliver actionable recommendations, lead program strategy and performance, make underwriting decisions, and drive initiatives from problem identification through execution—while maintaining full accountability and aligning outcomes at both program and portfolio levels. The Consultant will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing numerous, highly complex lines of business. They will underwrite individual risk for acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms and conditions. They will lead in the development and integration of new and existing programs and identify new program opportunities. The role involves participating in making reinsurance decisions, assisting in developing and implementing loss control and risk management strategies, and collaborating with business partners for the development and implementation of program-specific tools (e.g., underwriting guidelines, forms/rate filings) for new or modified programs. Communication of program updates to program managers and other business liaisons is also a key responsibility. Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal business liaisons, external program managers, and brokers is crucial for success. The role also includes training and mentoring of underwriting team members.
