Overview In this role, you’ll work with a team of engineers designing and documenting mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-unit residential facilities. You’ll contribute across the project lifecycle—from existing-conditions documentation through design coordination and field verification.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of experience in mechanical systems design and/or installation.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with mechanical and plumbing design; fire suppression systems; fuel distribution; residential and commercial HVAC principles; energy code compliance; and building controls systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret 3D building systems and translate them into clear 2D construction documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).

  • E.I.T. or P.E. preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Document existing mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection) through as-built/field investigations.
  • Develop and update design drawings using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit.
  • Lead mechanical design/layout tasks for commercial and residential projects.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to integrate designs.
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
  • Size and select mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct final inspections to verify installations align with design intent.
