Overview In this role, you’ll work with a team of engineers designing and documenting mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-unit residential facilities. You’ll contribute across the project lifecycle—from existing-conditions documentation through design coordination and field verification.

Requirements

6–8 years of experience in mechanical systems design and/or installation.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Demonstrated experience with mechanical and plumbing design; fire suppression systems; fuel distribution; residential and commercial HVAC principles; energy code compliance; and building controls systems.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret 3D building systems and translate them into clear 2D construction documents.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).

E.I.T. or P.E. preferred.

Responsibilities

Document existing mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection) through as-built/field investigations.
Develop and update design drawings using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit.
Lead mechanical design/layout tasks for commercial and residential projects.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to integrate designs.
Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
Size and select mechanical equipment.
Conduct final inspections to verify installations align with design intent.
