About The Position

Red Hat Services is seeking a Consultant to deliver solutions to client business challenges through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. The Consultant promotes adoption of Red Hat solutions by combining technical expertise, open-source awareness, understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and resolve enterprise-level issues. This role requires on-site work at client locations and travel to customer sites across North America approximately 30–40 weeks per year, typically Monday through Thursday. Candidates must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business and hold an active Top Secret clearance. After joining, the Consultant completes an intensive customized training program on Red Hat technologies and Services solutions, with development milestones over the first two, six, and twelve months. The salary range is $96,440–$154,190. Actual compensation depends on qualifications and other factors. The position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.

Requirements

Must hold an active Top Secret clearance.
Must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Willingness to travel to customer locations about 30–40 weeks per year throughout North America; travel is weekly, typically Monday through Thursday.
Experience delivering an implementation based on an architectural design.
Ability to lead a technical project, collaborate on project timelines, and maintain project and technical documentation.
Ability to identify stakeholder needs and set expectations about project timelines and scope of work.
Experience collaborating across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of and desire to mentor.
Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or higher in computer science or a technical discipline.
Experience leading successful modern cloud platform consulting engagements and implementing and integrating Red Hat open hybrid cloud technologies, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, and Red Hat Satellite.
Broad and deep technical experience with one or more automation technologies, such as Ansible Core, Python, YAML, PowerShell, and network device automation.
Practical experience with GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and DevOps approaches.
Experience with automation platforms such as Chef and Puppet, and technical experience with networking, storage, compute, or ServiceNow.
Ability to work with leadership to promote adoption of automation techniques.
Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, Scrum, and DevOps teams and processes to improve the cloud life cycle, including infrastructure and application uptime, availability, and time to market.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Guide customers in building scalable, optimally managed solutions that can adapt to technological improvements using Red Hat technologies.

Develop solutions to customer problems using Ansible Core and Ansible Automation Platform.
Integrate Red Hat technologies into customer environments according to best practices.
Guide customers in implementing automation use cases and integrating other supported Red Hat products.
Use Automation Hub collections to automate workflows and processes and support technical resources.
Deliver customer projects collaboratively as a technical lead.
Develop customer use cases into project plans and align requirements with Red Hat technologies.
Implement complex, large-scale solutions in customer environments.
Share lessons learned, best practices, and how-to knowledge with internal and external communities of practice.
