About The Position

The Consultant, AI Enablement supports the strategic integration of AI technologies within the business, bridging business needs and AI capabilities. The role helps teams access tools, resources, knowledge, and frameworks to drive innovation and efficiency, and contributes to moving AI opportunities from idea through execution and deployment. The position is part of Nationwide’s Property and Casualty AI Process Transformation Hub, which coordinates high-value AI opportunities and supports shared ways of working, governance, and portfolio management across P&C. The role partners with business and enabling teams to identify opportunities, align initiatives with enterprise priorities, promote AI literacy and adoption, and support measurable business outcomes. The position is expected to work in the office two days per week; remote internal associates may also be considered. It does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization, and Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

Requirements

Typically 8–10 years of experience in AI or digital transformation roles, with a background in technology, product development, or innovation.
Experience with agile delivery methodologies and product management or product owner principles.
Strong understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of change management and technology adoption techniques.
Experience with cloud platforms and AI tools.
Ability to influence without direct authority.

Nice To Haves

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify high-impact AI opportunities.
Translate business challenges into AI use cases and support development of the AI enablement roadmap.
Assess data readiness and identify appropriate data sources for AI adoption.
Use business insight to assist in creating and socializing business cases for AI opportunities.
Support planning and execution across AI project lifecycles, from ideation to deployment.
Serve as a liaison across cross-functional teams to help ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery.
Help identify and maintain a backlog of AI opportunities and use cases through structured ideation and cross-functional collaboration.
Support alignment of AI initiatives with enterprise priorities, governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and ethical AI practices.
Promote AI literacy in partnership with the enterprise AI learning and communication team.
Facilitate AI adoption within the business and support organizational change initiatives for AI transformation.
Collaborate with the enterprise AI learning and communication team on communications that showcase AI success stories and share best practices.
Track and report KPIs for AI initiatives to support continuous improvement of enablement strategies.
Partner with and align the EAO and EIDO organization on business outcomes, required capabilities, and solutions.
Work with AI subject-matter experts across the organization to share best practices and scale resources where applicable.
Support identification of future AI skill needs and workforce planning with HR and business leadership.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
