About The Position

The Construction Technology Technical Operations Specialist owns reporting, automation, and workflow projects from goal definition through near-completion. The role draws on firsthand construction project experience to understand the needs of project managers and superintendents and create tools that reduce friction in their daily work. The position assesses reporting needs and designs Power BI dashboards to improve visibility, forecasting, and decision-making. It partners with and delegates technical execution to the Data and Integrations Analyst, while validating data accuracy from an operations perspective. The role also supports the development and publication of web-based training materials, reference guides, and SharePoint resources that reflect technical workflows and project-team needs. The specialist reduces manual and duplicate data entry through automation and improved workflows; supports dashboards for areas such as cost, change orders, safety, quality control, RFIs/submittals, and schedules; partners with ConTech leadership on governance and standards; and supports platform rollouts by translating operations workflows into system configurations and reporting requirements. The role identifies and escalates system gaps, risks, and process-improvement opportunities.

Requirements

5+ years in construction project management or construction technology, with hands-on implementation of enterprise tools and reporting.
Working knowledge of construction project management platforms, including integration touchpoints.
Demonstrated ability to develop web-based training and drive adoption across field and project teams.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and change-management skills.
Construction project operational workflow fluency, including the ability to design clear workflows and reporting and simplify field adoption.
Ability to interpret data and design reporting logic.
Ability to execute and lead projects autonomously.
Ability to communicate and translate across functions.
Problem-solving and root-cause-analysis skills.
Ability to drive complex deliverables to completion and guide teams through process and technology updates with empathy and structure.
Firsthand construction project experience to understand the perspectives and workflows of project managers and superintendents.

Responsibilities

Own and drive reporting, automation, and workflow projects end-to-end, from defining goals to reaching 95% completion.
Assess departmental reporting needs and design Power BI dashboards that improve visibility, forecasting, and decision-making.
Delegate technical execution tasks to the Data and Integrations Analyst and ensure clarity and quality of outputs.
Validate data accuracy using an operations-informed perspective and independently resolve discrepancies when possible.
Assist the Operations Specialist in developing and publishing web-based training materials, reference guides, and SharePoint resources for operations employees.
Reduce manual or duplicate data entry by implementing automation or improved workflows.
Design dashboards for defined projects and goals, including cost/change orders, safety, quality control, RFIs/submittals, and schedules, partnering with the analyst on execution.
Partner with ConTech leadership on governance, naming conventions, permissions, and long-term standards.
Support major platform rollouts, such as Forma and GC Pay, by translating operations workflows into system configurations and reporting needs.
Identify and escalate system gaps, risks, and process-improvement opportunities.
Develop and direct analyst execution of cost/change-order dashboard logic and reporting for cost-tracking logs and metrics across groups and divisions.
Translate and migrate Excel tracking logs into automated reports and dashboards.
Develop workflow and reporting logic for RFI/submittal performance tracking.
Map safety incident PDF fields into structured datasets for dashboard use.
Develop training progress and compliance tracking metrics across divisions.
Design automation flows that reduce duplicate entry between systems.
Assess and simplify processes for field teams.
