Construction Technology and Data Analyst
About The Position
Graycor is seeking a Construction Technology & Data Analyst to support the Construction Technology Manager in managing data, improving processes, developing companywide reporting tools, and evaluating, implementing, and continuously improving technology. This role involves beta testing new construction technology and AI tools, supporting the deployment and adoption of technology, and adjusting tools based on feedback. The analyst will also work with estimating and operations teams to enhance data collection and usage, convert estimates, develop historical cost databases, improve Excel-based tools, and identify automation opportunities. Additionally, the position requires building and maintaining Power BI dashboards and visual reports, serving as a point of contact for software and hardware support, and developing/updating end-user training materials.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, finance, business, statistics, or a related field.
- Two or more years of experience in data analysis, estimating, project controls, construction, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, charts, and data modeling.
- Previous experience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, or similar business technology tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information and data insights into clear, practical guidance; and work with estimating, operations, and project teams to understand needs, troubleshoot issues, and support technology adoption.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively across departments to understand business needs and help develop practical solutions.
- Ability and willingness to learn new processes, systems, and technologies as business needs evolve.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with WinEst, Bridgit Bench, Procore, or InEight is a plus.
- Previous experience developing user-friendly technical training materials is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Beta test new construction technology and AI tools with project teams and estimators.
- Support the successful deployment and adoption of technology.
- Adjust tools and workflows based on testing feedback and project needs.
- Increase the collection and use of operational business data with estimating and operations teams.
- Convert awarded estimates into detailed estimates using the company’s established cost codes and project management systems.
- Develop and maintain historical cost databases for self-performed and subcontracted work.
- Develop and improve Excel-based business and construction tools.
- Identify opportunities to automate business processes and improve workflow efficiency across estimating and operations.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and visual reports that provide project and portfolio-level information.
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for questions and troubleshooting related to construction software and hardware platforms.
- Support organizational learning by developing and updating end-user training for the company’s technology stack.
- Support new-hire orientation related to the company’s technology stack.
