About The Position

Brayman Construction Corporation in Saxonburg, PA is actively seeking a dependable full-time Construction Surveyor to construction survey and layout on bridges, dams, highways, foundations, geotechnical projects and other related heavy civil industrial projects with minimal supervision from the Survey Manager. While the Construction Surveyor will be based in Saxonburg, PA, regular and frequent travel to job sites will be necessary. This mostly include travel within Western PA, Allegheny, Butler, or Beaver County. This Construction Surveyor position earns a competitive wage, bonus, and company vehicle. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least five years of survey and layout experience is required.
  • At least five years of work experience with similar types of survey equipment required.
  • Experience and a comprehensive understanding of GPS based survey development and layout.
  • Proficient with computerized mapping technologies and surveying instruments, and the computer applications and software used to process field data.
  • Effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Analyze and evaluate various processes.
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Surveying or related field preferred.
  • LSIT, CST or Professional Survey licensure is preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
  • Experience with heavy highway and bridge construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project specific survey needs and ensure project components are built to the correct dimensions in the correct location.
  • Ensure that the information provided by both the owner and the designer is correct and that the existing conditions match that which is shown in the project documents.
  • Use knowledge of the latest surveying equipment and techniques.
  • Mentor and oversee other field surveyors as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with coworkers, clients, and vendors.
  • Provide actual project surveying and layout when required.
  • Direct and coordinate outside survey services utilized.
  • Help ensure the project survey equipment is up to date, serviced regularly and maintained.
  • Take on the role of lead surveyor.
