Requirements

Degree or diploma in Geomatics, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Minimum 5 years experience in construction surveying; rail experience is an asset.
Proficient with Trimble field equipment and software.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
Willing to work outdoors in varying conditions all year.
Willing to travel for work.
Capable of executing tasks in a safe, accurate, efficient manner.
Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, be a resident, and residing in the Greater Edmonton area to be considered for the position.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily field surveys along railway corridors using GNSS, total stations, and trolley rail systems.
Stake out points, lines and levels to guide the construction process.
Collect and report survey data on rail geometry and alignments.
Produce and confirm topographical surveys.
Provide detailed and accurate daily survey field data, notes, sketches, and supporting documentation.
Collaborate with onsite managers, superintendents, and track construction teams to ensure survey deliverables meet project specifications and timelines.
Identify and communicate field discrepancies to the project and survey manager in a timely manner.
Actively participate in the advancement of Tri Innovations’ health and safety program.
Responsible for maintenance and ongoing care of all survey equipment.
