About The Position

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor to join their team on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This significant project, the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history at $2.87 billion, involves the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This role offers a valuable opportunity for professional growth and career advancement within a vital Everglades restoration initiative focused on ecosystem health, water storage, and climate change resilience. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with land surveying.
  • Field work experience a must.
  • Current proficiency operating a robotic tool station, GPS, and level.
  • AutoCAD experience required.
  • Knowledge of geological description principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, legal codes, and government regulation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report background check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying.
  • Utilize project controls and staking using a total station, GPS, and computer software.
  • Responsible for all aspects of project control including field data collection, topographical surveys, and construction stakeout.
  • Provide surveying services, which include construction survey and layout on dams and other related heavy civil projects.
  • Assist with survey computations and data collection including construction layout calculations, grade sheet computation, topographical/volume analysis, and project data conversion/transformation.
  • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and as-built surveys.
  • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
  • Conduct plan research and review.
  • Perform fieldwork associated with land surveying.
  • Conduct business with 100% integrity and professionalism.
