About The Position

Miller Industries is seeking a highly motivated 1st Shift Construction Superintendent to join their team in Fenton, Michigan. This role involves supervising and leading a workforce in the assembly and construction of modular mechanical equipment rooms, ensuring daily production goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The superintendent will coordinate with engineering and project management, monitor performance, coach team members, and maintain accurate documentation. They will also enforce company policies, safety standards, and OSHA regulations, troubleshoot issues, and participate in planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Miller Industries is a family-operated business specializing in custom steel fabrication, HVAC systems, and modular equipment rooms, serving automotive, healthcare, and institutional customers worldwide.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a construction, modular assembly, or fabrication supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of modular systems, construction methods, or HVAC/mechanical systems preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site full time on 1st shift (Monday–Friday).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a workforce in the assembly and construction of modular mechanical equipment rooms.
  • Ensure daily production goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering and project management to ensure specifications and deadlines are met.
  • Monitor performance, coach team members, and provide hands-on guidance to support growth and development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of production activities and employee performance.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  • Troubleshoot issues on the floor and implement corrective actions quickly.
  • Participate in planning meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
