About The Position

Supervises, leads and coordinates activities of workers engaged in construction of buildings, highways and other construction projects. Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction based on starting and completion times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Equivalent.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company insurance provider/program vehicles

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years or more experience in a related area preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determines staffing requirements for each phase of construction, based on knowledge of available tools and equipment and various building methods.
  • Assembles members of organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering and other workers) at the beginning of a project.
  • Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Works with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances with the workforce.
  • Coordinates with supervisors, engineering personnel, inspectors and suppliers of materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications and that construction schedules are adhered to.
  • Communicate professionally with Architects and engineers.
  • Complete company paperwork as needed.
  • Able to understand smart phones and tablets, including Time Keeping, Emails, documents, submittts, etc.
  • Able to use computer programs such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Office (emails and calendars), etc. with a basic understanding.
  • Able to review and forward Submittals, RFI’s, ASI’s, Change Orders to engineer or architect.
  • Regularly attend company safety training sessions.
  • Prepares, or receives from subordinates, reports on progress, materials used, cost analysis and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
  • Direct workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
  • Assist in overseeing crews assigned to their specific project. Crews will consist of laborers, apprentice, journeymen, foreman and Field Supervisors.
