About The Position

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and execution of construction and recovery activities supporting Hurricane Isaias Damage Assessment and Recovery operations at Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force Base. The Superintendent oversees field personnel, subcontractors, construction activities, and resources for facility damage assessment, recovery, restoration, repair, maintenance, and construction. Work must meet contract requirements, approved plans and specifications, schedules, quality standards, and applicable safety regulations. The position coordinates with the Site Manager, Alternate Site Manager, Quality Control Manager, and Site Safety and Health Officer to execute assigned work successfully.

Requirements

At least ten years of construction experience, including at least five years as a Construction Superintendent on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.
Demonstrated experience supervising construction personnel, subcontractors, and multiple construction activities.
Experience managing construction schedules, manpower, equipment, materials, and daily field operations.
Knowledge of construction practices, plans and specifications, quality control procedures, and applicable safety requirements.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Active Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience supporting Department of Defense installations or federal Government construction projects.
Experience with hurricane recovery, disaster response, facility damage assessments, emergency repairs, and restoration.
Familiarity with Government contracting procedures and military installation requirements.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily construction and recovery operations, including contractor personnel and subcontractors.
Plan, schedule, and manage construction activities to meet established timelines and contract requirements.
Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and resources needed for field operations.
Direct and monitor construction crews to ensure work follows approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Coordinate facility damage assessments, repairs, restoration, and construction activities.
Monitor daily work progress and communicate schedule impacts, resource requirements, and operational issues to the Site Manager.
Coordinate with the Quality Control Manager and Site Safety and Health Officer to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.
Conduct daily site inspections and construction progress meetings as required.
Identify and resolve field construction issues, delays, and conflicts.
Maintain daily construction reports, manpower records, and project progress documentation.
Coordinate with Government representatives and facility personnel regarding construction activities and site access requirements.
