About The Position

RES is looking for a Superintendent I to join our growing field operations team! As Superintendent I, you will oversee field crews and help manage the successful delivery of environmental construction projects. In this role, you'll combine construction expertise with ecological awareness to drive safety, quality, and efficiency on site. Working closely with Project Managers and other field leaders, you'll lead by example to ensure every job meets RES standards—and that every team member gets home safely. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong field experience, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of both construction processes and restoration best practices. Experience in full site construction of stream restoration, stormwater infrastructure, and heavy civil construction projects is required. This position requires weekly travel throughout the Southeast, with overnight stays typically occurring Monday through Friday based on project location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of construction or ecological field experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a construction foreman or field crew lead
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a Samsara driving score above 70
  • Experience reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, and layouts
  • Experience in stream restoration construction, including planting, excavation, and erosion control
  • Understanding of ecological restoration in a field setting

Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of site plans, specifications, and ecological principles to guide daily operations and plans.
  • Proactively communicate with your Project Manager and the broader project team.
  • Assess site conditions.
  • Manage tasks and personnel effectively on a single-site project.
  • Confirm that all equipment is maintained, fueled, and functioning.
  • Play a key role in task execution, troubleshooting, and quality control.
  • Provide safety leadership and strong field coordination.
