About The Position

Bering Straits Global Innovations, LLC (BSGI) was developed to provide general construction services to a variety of commercial and government agencies and to take advantage of Bering Straits Native Corporation and its companies’ previous experience in commercial and institutional building construction, alarm system monitoring service, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and other related services. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED minimum.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial or federal construction projects.
• Experience managing federal construction projects for agencies such as USACE, DoD, NAVFAC, GSA, or similar federal customers.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction trades.
• Experience managing projects exceeding $500,000, including secure facility construction and interior renovations.
• Strong understanding of commercial building systems including architectural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• Valid Driver's License.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Fluent in English; speaking, reading and writing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to federal and military installations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
• Proficient in Bluebeam or similar PDF editing software
• Take ownership of every project as if it were their own.
• Anticipate problems before they impact schedule or budget.
• Hold subcontractors accountable while maintaining strong working relationships.
• Communicate openly and professionally with the project teams.

• Must be able to lift approximately 40lbs alone.
• Must be able to spend extended periods of time (up to 2-4 hours) on your feet or walking around a project site, potentially on uneven surfaces or within areas actively in construction.
• Must be able to get to the project site on time, and under your own means of transportation, this includes to secure government facilities, through access control points.
• Employees must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

• Experience working within an SBA 8(a) federal contracting environment.
• Existing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Experience managing occupied renovations and secure government facilities.
• Working knowledge of government systems: RMS, WebCM, Kahua, etc.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations on multiple federal construction projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedule and productivity.
• Plan work activities to maximize efficiency while minimizing disruption to occupied government facilities.
• Conduct daily site meetings and communicate project expectations to all trades.
• Maintain a professional and productive jobsite culture.
• Manage project schedules and coordinate sequencing of multiple construction trades.
• Monitor progress and proactively identify potential schedule impacts before they become problems.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents with subcontractors.
• Coordinate material deliveries and equipment to support efficient project execution.
• Support successful project turnover and closeout activities.
• Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, UFC requirements, and contract documents.
• Identify construction deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support submittal implementation, inspections, testing, punch list completion, and project closeout.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, and field records.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across every project.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with OSHA requirements and project-specific safety plans.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and immediately address unsafe conditions.
• Lead by example through consistent safe work practices and accountability.
• Serve as a trusted field representative for BSNC.
• Build positive working relationships with Owners, Contracting Officers, CORs, Quality Assurance personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions professionally and proactively.
