Construction Summer Intern - New Jersey
About The Position
Vivmark Residential is hiring a Construction Intern in New Construction. The internship will be based at one or more construction projects in Vivmark Construction markets and provides hands-on experience with construction management of multifamily apartment communities. Interns may gain exposure to site and concrete work, framing, rough mechanicals, finishes, budgeting, and scheduling, and learn how construction documents and updates—including changes, clarifications, directives, and RFIs—are coordinated with team members, subcontractors, and suppliers. Interns collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, Subcontractors, Lead Engineers, and Architects. They also participate in a Summer Learning Series led by Vivmark Construction leaders, and learn about the company’s safety culture, best safety practices, and relevant safety laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong math comprehension and calculation skills.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and curiosity about the construction process and industry.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Bias for action and eagerness to see tasks through to completion.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Desire to apply academic construction management knowledge to real-world situations and gain exposure to new areas of the business.
Nice To Haves
- Prior construction-related internships or work experience is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
