Construction Summer Intern

AvalonBay Communities•Boston, MA

About The Position

Vivmark Residential is hiring Construction Interns for New Construction and Capital Projects (redevelopment). Interns work at one or more construction projects in Vivmark’s construction markets and gain hands-on experience in the construction management of multifamily apartment communities. Depending on the assignment, experience may include site and concrete work, framing, rough mechanicals, finishes, budgeting, and scheduling, or redevelopment work in occupied communities that involves construction and subcontractor management while maintaining an orderly living environment for residents. Interns collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, Subcontractors, Lead Engineers, and Architects. They learn how changes, clarifications, directives, and RFIs are updated and coordinated in real time with team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to help maintain efficient schedules. All Construction Interns also participate in a Summer Learning Series led by Vivmark Construction leaders, covering construction-industry roles and Vivmark’s construction processes. The internship also introduces Vivmark’s Incident and Injury-Free Workplace safety culture, including recognizing and reinforcing safety practices and learning about applicable safety laws and regulations.
