About The Position

This is a contract position based out of Boston, MA. The role involves completing construction quality audits in the field approximately 80% of the time, with the remaining 20% dedicated to office PC work. The specialist will conduct a wide range of inspections on nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, enclosures, and more. Some assignments may require travel of 3-4 hours, necessitating hotel stays which will be booked by the company. The role is primarily individual, with the team spread across different locations. The position is a long-term need, likely ongoing. The ideal candidate will have experience with Coax, including Amplifiers, Taps, and main line cable, in addition to fiber experience. The role requires availability from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, via phone for troubleshooting or clearing inspected jobs. Daily responsibilities include managing assigned audits, completing documentation, verifying and reviewing rework repairs, and performing computer and Smartsheet tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as: placing hard-line Connectivity & Platforms, frame and strand poles, transfer facilities between poles, place Connectivity & Platforms in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and Connectivity & Platforms trailers.
  • Investigates and monitors accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
  • Instructs work site safety standards; conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
  • Supports Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
  • Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
  • Reviews, resolves, follows-up customer request and complaints.
  • Monitors performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff who perform tasks in the same function.
  • Sets priorities for the team. Assigns tasks and checks work at regular intervals.
  • Responsible for ensuring all work performed on the project meets or exceeds Clients, Local, State or Federal standards and regulations.
  • Updating the JT or Polaris entry (job docs/maps) QC for path verification.
  • Primary contractor interface day-to-day in the field and in turn acts as the NGAN liaison with the Regional network Technicians.
  • Ensuring new or upgraded power supply is in place and operational (in continuity) prior to cut date.
  • Overall responsibility of the quality of the NGAN product: from the contractor building and to the Operations we hand off to.
  • Completing construction quality audits in the field.
  • Performing a wide range of inspections on nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, enclosures etc.
  • Completing audits and documentation.
  • Verifying and reviewing audit rework repairs and task are completed in a timely manner.
  • Performing computer and Smartsheet work.
