About The Position

This role involves completing construction quality audits in the field approximately 80% of the time, with the remaining 20% dedicated to office-based computer work. The audits will cover a wide range of infrastructure components including nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, and enclosures. Some assignments may require travel of 3-4 hours, necessitating hotel stays which will be booked by the company. The position requires availability Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM via phone to assist with troubleshooting or clearing inspected jobs. Daily tasks include managing assigned audits, documenting findings, verifying and reviewing rework repairs, and performing computer-based work, including Smartsheet updates. This is primarily an individual role, with team members distributed geographically. The interview process consists of two rounds conducted via Microsoft Teams. This is a long-term, likely ongoing need.

Requirements

  • Must have both Coax and Fiber experience.
  • Experience with Amplifiers, Taps, and main line cable.
  • Experience in telecommunication, coax, fiber optic, telecom, construction, OSP, project management, construction management, cable, close outs, project coordination, field audit, quality audit.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Completing construction quality audits in the field.
  • Performing office-based computer work, including Smartsheet updates.
  • Conducting a wide range of inspections on nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, enclosures, etc.
  • Verifying and reviewing that audit rework repairs and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Being available via phone M-F 8a-5p to troubleshoot or clear inspected jobs.
  • Ensuring the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as placing hard-line Connectivity & Platforms, frame and strand poles, transfer facilities between poles, place Connectivity & Platforms in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and Connectivity & Platforms trailers.
  • Investigating and monitoring accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
  • Instructing work site safety standards; conducting work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participating in regular safety meetings with the crew.
  • Supporting Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
  • Generating logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
  • Reviewing, resolving, and following-up on customer requests and complaints.
  • Monitoring performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives.
  • Coordinating and supervising the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff who perform tasks in the same function.
  • Setting priorities for the team and assigning tasks.
  • Ensuring all work performed on the project meets or exceeds clients, Local, State or Federal standards and regulations.
  • Updating the JT or Polaris entry (job docs/maps) for path verification.
  • Acting as the primary contractor interface day-to-day in the field and as the NGAN liaison with the Regional network Technicians.
  • Ensuring new or upgraded power supply is in place and operational (in continuity) prior to cut date.
  • Maintaining overall responsibility for the quality of the NGAN product from contractor build to Operations handoff.
