About The Position

Morton Buildings, Inc. is the industry leader in post-frame construction with over 120 years of business experience and a nationwide network of manufacturing plants and construction centers. As a full-time Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for increasing market share within an assigned geographical territory by cultivating new customers and nurturing relationships with existing ones. This role involves a blend of pre-sale (70%) and post-sale (30%) responsibilities, requiring a self-driven, motivated, and organized individual. You will prospect, generate leads, present solutions, and guide customers through the buying process, while also managing project details, coordinating internal teams, and supporting the build to completion. Morton Buildings provides comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure success. The ideal candidate must be adaptable to industry changes and evolving market needs. This territory covers Osceola, MO; Sugar Creek, MO; Joplin, MO; Oswego, KS; and Fort Scott, KS.

Requirements

  • 2 years sales or account management experience OR 5 years of construction management experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Capable of maintaining an accurate and organized sales pipeline within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Ability to develop and maintain an adequate sales funnel to sell at or above established sales budgets.
  • Ability to integrate various technologies into day-to-day activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must reside within 30 miles of assigned territory within 30 days of hire date.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to industry changes and evolving market needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or project management.
  • Minimal overnight travel required beyond initial training and onboarding period.

Responsibilities

  • Increase market share within an assigned geographical territory.
  • Cultivate new customers and develop relationships with long-standing customers.
  • Prospect, generate leads, and conduct customer presentations.
  • Develop solutions and guide customers through the early stages of the buying process.
  • Manage project details and coordinate with internal teams for seamless customer experience.
  • Support the build through to completion.
  • Grow existing market share and be readily available during construction relative work hours.
  • Coordinate all individuals involved in the building project, including MBI personnel.
  • Hire and manage subcontractors.
  • Navigate permitting requirements.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality.
