About The Position
HazTek is seeking a Construction Safety Specialist to support a pharmaceutical construction project in Rahway, New Jersey. The role provides daily safety oversight across all trades and works closely with contractors and project leadership to maintain a safe work environment. The position supports startup activities, hazardous energy control (HEC), and lockout/tagout (LOTO), and monitors crane and rigging operations, including review of lift plans. Requirements
- Construction safety experience overseeing multiple trades.
- Strong hands-on experience with startup activities, HEC, and LOTO.
- Experience with crane and rigging safety and lift plan reviews.
- OSHA 510 certification required.
- OSHA 30 completed within the past five years required.
- Current First Aid certification required.
- Strong communication and contractor coordination skills.
- Availability to support weekend work as needed.

Responsibilities
- Oversee construction activities for compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety requirements.
- Provide safety support for startup activities, hazardous energy control (HEC), and lockout/tagout (LOTO).
- Monitor crane and rigging operations and review lift plans for safe execution.
- Conduct site inspections, review JSAs and work permits, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Facilitate safety meetings and coordinate with project teams to identify and address hazards.
