About The Position

The Construction Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of all personnel on construction sites across the United States. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that comply with federal, state, and local regulations. The manager will lead safety training initiatives, conduct regular site inspections, and investigate incidents to prevent future occurrences. By fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement, the Construction Safety Manager helps minimize risks and promotes a safe working environment. Ultimately, this role ensures that construction projects are completed efficiently without compromising the well-being of workers and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management or a similar role within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards applicable to construction sites.
  • Proven ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively train and influence diverse teams on safety practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
  • Experience with safety management software and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in construction.
  • Previous experience managing safety on large-scale or multi-site construction projects.
  • Advanced training in emergency response, first aid, or industrial hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures tailored to construction site operations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks to educate workers and supervisors on best practices and emergency response protocols.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate safety considerations into all phases of construction projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety activities, inspections, incidents, and training for reporting and continuous improvement purposes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and technologies to enhance the effectiveness of safety programs.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
