About The Position

Join a contractor supporting the AEP Tower renovation project in Columbus, OH. Project scope includes commercial building renovation, multi-trade construction activities, interior renovations, MEP work, and ongoing facility improvements. The Construction Safety Manager will oversee day-to-day project safety operations, manage multiple trades, review AHAs and JHAs, support stretch-and-flex programs, maintain safety documentation, and provide overall site safety leadership throughout the project.

Requirements

BCSP Credential (CHST, ASP, CSP, OHST, STSC, or Equivalent) and/or 4-Year Degree in Health & Safety
Minimum 5+ Years of Construction Safety Experience
Experience Managing Safety on Multi-Trade Construction Projects
Experience Reviewing and Managing AHAs and JHAs
Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
Working knowledge of Commercial Building Renovation Projects
Working knowledge of Multi-Trade Construction Operations
Working knowledge of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
Working knowledge of Safety Audits & Compliance Inspections
Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work
Working knowledge of Aerial Lifts & MEWPs
Working knowledge of Material Handling Operations
Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation
Working knowledge of Site Safety Documentation & Reporting

Responsibilities

Provide daily field safety oversight for all project activities
Manage safety performance across multiple trades and subcontractors
Review and oversee Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
Lead and support daily stretch-and-flex activities
Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors
Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
