About The Position

TTL is seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Technician for their Tuscaloosa, AL location. This entry-level position offers a starting pay of $18.00/hour with no experience required. The role involves providing CQA services on CCR and Landfill projects, including Clay and Geosynthetic Liner Inspections. The technician will monitor, observe, and sample materials used in construction, and may assist with Construction Materials Testing services. Responsibilities include preparing daily reports and data sheets, operating with close to moderate supervision, and potentially working off-hours and weekends with overnight travel required (approximately 70% of the time), with per diem and lodging provided. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. TTL is willing to train qualified individuals, especially those with earthwork construction experience, and will cover the cost of required certifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate professionally orally and proficient in writing skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Perform heavy lifting up to 50+lbs and ability to work in seasonal conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework or degree preferred. Emphasis in physical sciences and/or math.
  • Certified or ability to certify for the Compacted Clay and Geosynthetic Liner Inspector (GCI-ICP) course within 6 months.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly learn how to use additional software/online applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide CQA Services on CCR and Landfill projects including but not limited to Clay and Geosynthetic Liner Inspections.

  • Represent the company at professional and/or client meetings.

  • May be required to work off-hours and weekends, travel overnight in state and out of state may be required (70% overall). Per Diem and lodging package provided.
  • Must possess a high level or verbal and written communication skills to be successful in this role.
