About The Position

The Construction (QA) Inspector will deliver surveillance reports on all phases of construction, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications regarding workmanship, materials, installation, and construction methods for government personnel. This role provides technical expertise to the client to guarantee the project adheres to all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions. The inspector will perform inspections, complete daily site reports including comments on progress, work activities, safety issues, and subcontractor manpower. They will observe and investigate construction phases for compliance with schedules, specifications, and shop drawings, identify problems, recommend changes, and assess the need for contract modifications. The position involves preparing engineering plans or reports, reviewing contractor schedules, and assisting in all phases of the contract modification process. Additionally, the inspector will review and analyze contractor plans and technical submittals for approval, monitor scheduled progress of construction activities, and advise the project team of potential delays. Utilization of the Resident Management System (RMS) is required, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a federal background review and drug screen
  • High School Diploma/GED minimum
  • Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience on construction contract administration and inspection projects on large complex multimillion dollar federal projects
  • Experience with vertical construction projects
  • Experience with relevant construction / building codes is needed
  • Experience using RMS 3.0
  • Experience with three-phase inspection process
  • Experience with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related Construction related degree, preferred
  • Department of Defense (DoD) or USACE preferred
  • Hospital construction experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to client to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.
  • Perform inspections and complete daily site reports.

  • Observe and investigate construction phases for compliance with schedules, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Identify problems, recommends changes, and assesses the need for contract modifications.
  • Prepare complete engineering plans or reports.
  • Review contractor schedules.
  • Assist in all phases of the contract modification process.
  • Review and analyze contractor plans and technical submittals for approval action, including progress schedules, environmental, safety and quality control programs, certifications and shop drawings.
  • Monitor scheduled progress of all construction activities and phases of construction and advise the project team of potential delay.
  • Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
