Construction Project Scheduler - Airport - Aviation Program

CLMI Group, LLCLos Angeles, CA
$160,000 - $169,000Onsite

About The Position

CLMI Group is seeking an experienced Construction Project Scheduler to join our owner's project controls team supporting the Terminal Development & Improvement Program (TDIP) at Los Angeles World Airports (LAX). This is a senior-level, on-site scheduling role embedded directly in one of the most consequential aviation capital programs in the country — a multi-billion-dollar LAX modernization effort tied to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. You will develop and maintain detailed CPM construction schedules for multiple interdependent projects, perform forensic schedule analysis and Time Impact Analysis (TIA), review contractor submittments, support delay claim negotiations, and provide objective schedule assessments directly to the owner's team. This is not a coordination role — you will be a decision-support resource at the program level.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of construction scheduling experience, with 5+ years in direct support of an active multi-project capital program (owner-side or CM-side preferred)
  • Direct forensic scheduling experience — claims analysis, TIA, and delay assessment on projects of $200M+ value with 3+ year duration; familiarity with AACE RP 29 required
  • Mastery of Oracle Primavera P6 (v6.0 or higher); experience with Schedule Analyzer, Claims Digger, and/or Microsoft Project a strong plus
  • Experience across multiple project delivery methods: Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, Design/Build
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule multiple concurrent, interrelated projects
  • Strong written and oral communication skills — ability to present complex schedule findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field required; relevant professional licensure or certifications (PSP, PMI-SP, PE) strongly preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Prior aviation or large transportation infrastructure experience is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed CPM schedules for new construction and renovation projects within TDIP, including airline terminal improvements, asset renewal, and airport service upgrades
  • Perform independent schedule analysis of contractor submittals — including baseline schedules, monthly updates, four-week look-aheads, and as-built schedules — against contract requirements and LAWA code structure
  • Conduct Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and forensic schedule analysis per AACE RP 29 to assess delay claims and support owner liability evaluation
  • Facilitate multi-project interface coordination and identify interdependency risks across the TDIP program
  • Engage directly with contractors and claims staff to understand delay claim bases and support negotiation of settlements
  • Develop KPIs and prepare briefing materials that translate complex schedule findings for both technical and executive audiences
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, and controls leads across the owner's team

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k)
  • 401k Matching
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Short Term / Long Term Disability / Life
