About The Position

Plans and manages projects of significant complexity and risk, including hospital facility renovations, new construction, and space reallocation. Manages all phases of the project life cycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, schedule and cost management, risk management, and close-out. Ensures projects comply with applicable policies, procedures, codes, and regulations. Provides leadership and management over project phases and resources, and produces documentation needed to plan, define, and implement assigned projects. Applies proactive project management techniques to achieve cost, quality, safety, client satisfaction, and schedule objectives. Plans, designs, and executes multiple construction and renovation projects to meet program requirements and budget, safety, and time constraints. Coordinates with impacted NCHS stakeholders, communicates project impacts and status, develops move and equipment management plans, and leads their implementation. Manages project procurement and participates in contract negotiations following Request for Proposal selection. Obtains required hospital approvals and submits documentation for purchase order issuance. Maintains accurate project files and electronic records, ensures compliance with applicable regulations and codes, and manages risks, milestones, deliverables, and deadlines. Also assists with project management training, workshops, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field, or five years of equivalent work experience.
4–7 years of experience in healthcare project management, commercial construction, or facilities planning/capital project management.
Ability to implement NCHS procedures to ensure safety and security.
Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD computer-aided design software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and project management software.
Ability to prepare project scope, budget, and schedule documents.
Familiarity with construction contracts and construction delivery strategies.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, and execute multiple construction and renovation projects within program, budget, safety, and schedule constraints.
Prepare project management plans for assigned projects.
Coordinate projects with impacted NCHS stakeholders and communicate project impacts and status to appropriate parties.
Develop move and equipment management plans and lead their implementation.
Manage project procurement and participate in contract negotiations resulting from Request for Proposal selection.
Obtain required hospital approvals and submit documentation to appropriate departments for purchase order issuance.
Document project information accurately and promptly; maintain current, complete, and accurate project files and electronic records.
Ensure compliance with AHCA, ADA, NFPA, OSHA, and local building codes; follow up on issues and take corrective measures as needed.
Evaluate project risks and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans to avoid delays and cost overruns.
Review project progress and status, identify activities needed, and ensure deliverables, milestones, and required tasks are completed by deadlines.
Assist with developing and delivering project management training and workshops, and with process improvement initiatives.
