About The Position

LANL is seeking experienced Construction Project Managers and Superintendents to lead construction efforts at the TA-55 facility - a high-security nuclear environment supporting some of the nation's most critical federal missions. In this dual-function role you'll own project execution end-to-end: managing scope, budget, and schedule as a Control Account Manager while providing direct construction oversight and leading Superintendent-level staff. With 40 openings and a program duration of up to 5 years, this is one of the largest and most impactful hiring efforts currently underway at LANL.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of nuclear worker experience - top hiring priority
  • A-Level Access eligibility required
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance - long-term commitment required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in a field construction environment
  • Ability to meet all physical requirements: lifting 50+ lbs, climbing stairs, extended standing
  • No degree, certification, or software requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DOE Q Clearance - long-term commitment required
  • Must have minimum 10 years of nuclear worker experience - no exceptions
  • A-Level Access eligibility required - candidates without this cannot be considered
  • Must be able to work 100% onsite at TA-55 in Los Alamos, NM
  • Must be available for all shifts including graveyard - graveyard shift refusal is disqualifying
  • Must meet all physical requirements: lifting 50+ lbs, climbing stairs, extended standing
  • Poor prior contractor performance at LANL is disqualifying

Nice To Haves

  • Active DOE Q Clearance
  • DOE, nuclear, or NNSA facility construction management experience
  • Experience at TA-55 or familiarity with plutonium facility construction requirements
  • Control Account Manager or EVMS experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Control Account Manager responsible for scope, cost, and schedule for assigned construction work packages
  • Lead construction crews and subcontractors during active work phases at TA-55
  • Develop and maintain EVMS-compliant cost and schedule baselines
  • Coordinate with engineering, QA, safety, and nuclear facility operations personnel
  • Present project performance to federal project managers and DOE oversight personnel
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Lead daily coordination meetings and pre-job briefings
  • Must be physically able to lift 50+ lbs, walk stairs, and stand for extended periods
  • Must be available for all shifts including graveyard as required by operational tempo
