Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or Construction Management Bachelor’s degree program
  • Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Internship or Co-op construction experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with estimating, including describing project proposals and assigning dollar values to projects.
  • Assist with scheduling, creating working timelines for subcontractors/trades to ensure timely project completion.
  • Attend design meetings with owners and teams to understand design and structural engineers and architects.
  • Assist with buyout by sending bid instructions, schedules, and drawings to subcontractors, and receiving and evaluating proposals to award subcontracts.
  • Assist with permitting by filling out permit forms, submitting them with drawings and fees to the city/county/fire department, and awaiting approval.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors, communicate to subcontractors that they can begin ordering material and working.
  • Assist with billing, including subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and pay applications.
  • Visit job sites with the Project Manager to ensure the project is running smoothly.
