Construction Project Estimator

About The Position
A growing general contractor is looking for an Estimator who can take the lead on bidding and preconstruction for a wide range of projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of estimating experience (commercial and/or government projects)
- Strong understanding of all construction divisions
- Ability to build scopes, interpret drawings, and develop full estimates
- Experience with design-build projects
- Comfortable working independently in a small team environment
Nice To Haves
- Engineering background
- Experience with Sage Timberline, Primavera, or Bluebeam
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial, state, and federal projects
- Review plans, specs, and bid documents to define scope and pricing
- Develop material, labor, and equipment estimates
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor bids
- Lead scope development and bid leveling to ensure full coverage
- Collaborate with PMs and leadership on preconstruction strategy
- Track multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
- Assist with project handoff to operations after award
