Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of proven experience as an On-Site Superintendent in DOD construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles
- Understanding and expertise in the DOD construction rules, regulations and documentation
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, developers, and co-workers
- The ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
- Availability to travel and attend to projects in various locations
Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate daily construction activities and manage subcontractors and personnel.
- Implement comprehensive safety programs to create a secure working environment.
- Ensure compliance with DOD regulations and maintain a commitment to safety.
- Facilitate communication between all project participants.
- Resolve issues and mediate disputes as needed to ensure project continuity.
- Ensure quality control by monitoring workmanship and materials.
- Conduct on-site inspections to uphold construction standards.
- Prepare project reports to keep stakeholders informed about progress and challenges.
- Develop and monitor CPM schedules, manpower utilization, material handling, and storage requirements.
- Manage equipment use according to government and contractual guidelines.
