About The Position

This role involves performing construction mining tasks in a remote camp setting at the Musselwhite project. The Construction Leader will guide less experienced miners and perform tasks such as forming, concrete work, vent doors, man doors, vent walls, sump installations, pipe installation, and ventilation and fan installations. The Construction Miner will be responsible for shotcreeting, building refuge stations, crusher stations, muck bins, conveyor installation, timber and concrete work, sump installations, the installation of vent tubing (air, water and pumping lines), and other construction work and maintenance jobs as required.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years construction mining experience (for Construction Leader).
2 years’ experience in a related construction role (for Construction Miner).
Demonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining.
Ability to multitask and work effectively.
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
Respectful of cultural differences.
Basic Knowledge of the mining industry.
Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
Ability to read, review and understand Standard Work Procedures, safety programs and applicable mine regulations.
Basic understanding and ability to read civil prints and or construction prints.
Must have the ability to adapt to change.
Pass a drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Perform construction mining tasks efficiently with little to no supervision.
Guide less experienced construction miners.
Perform forming, concrete work, vent doors, man doors, vent walls, sump installations, pipe installation, ventilation and fan installations.
Perform shotcreeting, building refuge stations, crusher stations, muck bins, conveyor installation, timber and concrete work, sump installations, installation of vent tubing (air, water and pumping lines).
Perform other construction work and maintenance jobs as required.
