About The Position

Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, the Underground Construction/Welder is responsible for direct or indirect support of mining operations by assuming responsibility for the assembling and welding steel components for various construction materials and components. Responsibilities

  • Complete the underground construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the 1470mL Pump Station and associated dewatering infrastructure at Musselwhite Mine as part of the PQD Expansion 1 project.
  • Installation of two cone sumps with ground support and shotcrete, structural steel cones and access platforms, sump covers and monorails, dewatering pump skids, sludge sump infrastructure, piping and pipe supports, and associated civil/structural works.
  • Installation of power distribution, electrical, instrumentation, automation and communications systems, borehole cable installations, and dewatering piping from the 1080mL borehole to the 1045mL water reservoir.
  • Assembling and welding steel components for various construction materials and components.
