This role involves performing construction observation and materials testing on various projects to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. Requirements

• No construction materials testing or inspection experience required.
• Ability to obtain ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade 1 within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to obtain Radiation Safety training certification for the operation of a nuclear density gauge within 6 months of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Able to use a company provided laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• A good work ethic and high level of personal integrity.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• ICC Special Inspector Certifications (Reinforced Concrete, Prestressed Concrete, Structural Masonry, Spray Applied Fireproofing, Structural Steel and Bolting, Structural Welding)
• Soils certification in one of the following: ACI aggregate soils, Nicet Soils, or ICC Soils Certs

Responsibilities

• Perform construction observation and materials testing on various projects to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
• Follow proper procedures.
• Complete work in a timely manner.
• Prepare daily field observation reports and materials testing data sheets.
• Perform accurate computations.
• Maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
• Assist in laboratory testing of materials.
• Train technicians and help grow the Houston Office.
• Lead other junior technicians on long-term projects.
