About The Position
Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for an experienced Construction Materials Testing Technician I to join their Salt Lake City, UT office. This role involves performing construction observation and materials testing on various projects to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications. Requirements
- No construction materials testing or inspection experience required.
- Ability to obtain ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade 1 within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to obtain Radiation Safety training certification for the operation of a nuclear density gauge within 6 months of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Able to use a company provided laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- A good work ethic and high level of personal integrity.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- ICC Special Inspector Certifications (Reinforced Concrete, Prestressed Concrete, Structural Masonry, Spray Applied Fireproofing, Structural Steel and Bolting, Structural Welding)
- Soils certification in one of the following: ACI aggregate soils, Nicet Soils, or ICC Soils Certs
Responsibilities
- Perform construction observation and materials testing on various projects to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
- Follow proper procedures.
- Complete work in a timely manner.
- Prepare daily field observation reports and materials testing data sheets.
- Perform accurate computations.
- Maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
- Help in laboratory testing of materials.
- Train technicians and help grow the Houston Office.
- Lead other junior technicians on long-term projects.
