About The Position

You’ll test materials to determine the physical properties of construction materials, including: Aggregate, Concrete, Soil and Asphalt Mixtures. Construction Materials Laboratory Technicians will travel to the Lakewood lab and perform testing for producers, contractors, developers and/or owners for the materials they are using in their construction. Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in materials testing or transportation industry.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Timeliness and communication skills are required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Science background is preferred, or as a minimum good math skill.
  • Current materials testing certifications are a plus, but training and certification enrollment is provided.
  • Knowledge of CDOT, FAA, COE, ASTM, and AASHTO procedures and specifications will be useful.
  • Self-starter and Can-do attitude are desirable traits.

Responsibilities

  • Pass necessary certifications to perform work to industry standards.
  • Supervise daily testing activities in the lab.
  • Answer junior staff's technical questions related to materials testing.
  • Work directly with the Lab Manager to schedule testing and assign tasks to lab staff.
