About The Position

The Construction Manager will support the management of large, complex construction projects across all phases, including pre-construction, bid/award, construction, project closeout and warranty. This role works closely with project leadership to oversee operations required to successfully deliver projects that meet the client’s goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related technical field.
  • Eight years’ minimum Construction Management or Construction Superintendent experience required.
  • Experience across all project phases, with significant experience in Construction.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to prioritize task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to set priorities and work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Be detailed oriented with a strong client focus.
  • Proven ability to manage project teams and staff and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to brief leadership effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as CCM, PMP, DBIA, or LEED AP are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of construction management software, including Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam Revu is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support leadership and the project team in the successful management and delivery of complex building projects while achieving the client’s vision.
  • Provide Construction Management services including review/evaluation and monitoring of project budgets and schedules, review of RFI’s and submittals, review/evaluation of pay applications and change orders, observing and monitoring of construction activities, and evaluating field issues and facilitating resolutions.
  • Assist project leadership in maintaining optimal performance by executing approved plans and maintaining proper controls. Reports progress relative to cost, schedule, and quality standards while adhering to project requirements.
  • Fosters a collaborative environment with peers and project teams; maintain positive, trusted relationships with clients, consultants, architects and contractors.
  • Maintain open dialogue with contractors, subcontractors, architects, clients and stakeholders to ensure clear, continuous and effective communication and a common understanding of project status, progress, and expectations.
  • Participates in client and stakeholder meetings; prepares agendas, content and meeting minutes.
  • Develop and manage project standards; provide regular progress reports to the clients.
  • Work on-site, as required, in construction trailers or field offices; provide daily construction observation reports.
  • Conduct field walks and participate in OAC (Owner, Architect and Contractor) meetings.
  • Facilitate creative solutions and problem solving throughout all phases of the design and construction process.
  • Monitor and facilitate project commissioning and closeout activities.
  • Coordinate delivery of fixtures, furniture, and equipment (FF&E) and other Owner contracted services and vendors.
  • Properly interpret and manage the performance of contracts with contractors, subcontractors, architects, consultants, and vendors.
  • Support leadership in developing, updating, and reporting on project budgets, invoices, and financial forecasts, including variance reporting.
  • Review contractor schedule updates and coordinate with MSI’s internal scheduling team; provide updates to the Owner.
  • Periodic travel, to project sites, client offices, and MSI offices.
