About The Position

The successful candidate will join the IDIQ & Construction Services Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. The Construction Manager reports directly to the Construction Field Services Supervisor. All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism. All safety policies and procedures must be followed.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) Apprenticeship program with a minimum of (10) years of related construction experience.
  • Additional relevant education or construction experience may be substituted for any equivalent combination of education/experience for a total of ten (10) years.
  • Proficient knowledge of Mechanical systems a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct work of others.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of curricula gained through long and varied work experience in field of specialty.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and written with effective use of visual aids.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability, along with good communication skills are required.
  • Must be efficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must have a valid state drivers license.
  • Valid Real ID compliant identification – www.dhs.gov/real-id.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others.
  • The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client organization.
  • Employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical background with strength in rigging, millwright, HVAC, controls, and process piping systems.
  • General with strength in asphalt, concrete, concrete reinforcement, masonry, structural steel, roofing, and interior finishes a plus.
  • Some budget managing of labor hrs.

Responsibilities

  • Daily project scheduling
  • Technical review of submittits
  • Coordination of subcontractor performance and compliance
  • Coordination of facility access, facility activities and outages
  • Responsible for overall daily project safety and success
