About The Position

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Construction Manager to lead execution of new and ongoing data center construction projects across the Texas market. This role is responsible for managing all phases of construction delivery, including pre‑construction, design coordination, contractor oversight, commissioning, and turnover to Operations. The Construction Manager operates with a high level of autonomy and is accountable for driving projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with customer and corporate requirements. This position partners closely with internal stakeholders across Development & Engineering, Sales, Operations, and subject matter experts, as well as external design‑build contractors and vendors. The ideal candidate brings strong technical construction experience, a hands‑on leadership style, and a deep understanding of mission‑critical facility delivery. This position is based on-site in San Antonio, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing construction projects of increasing complexity; 7+ years preferred.
  • Data center construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction scopes required.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project scope, schedule, and budget across assigned construction projects.
  • Drive all phases of construction delivery including pre‑construction, design development, permitting and entitlements, competitive bidding, team selection, construction oversight, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Cultivate and present business cases to support project approval and execution from concept through delivery.
  • Oversee physical construction activities and ensure execution aligns with project requirements and customer commitments.
  • Submit monthly project financial reporting including forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis.
  • Review monthly contractor billing and perform site walks to substantiate progress and validate payment applications.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain vendor contracts, including supporting negotiation of new and existing agreements.
  • Manage input and delivery of work products from internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with project requirements, customer specifications, engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, document, and drive lessons learned, process improvements, and cost and schedule optimization initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain strong awareness of mission‑critical facility requirements and operational continuity considerations.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams, Operations, and customers to ensure seamless coordination and execution.
  • Work with Operations to align design criteria with budget considerations and ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facilities.
  • Support customer engagement during sales and fulfillment phases to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
