About The Position

The Construction Manager supports the DOE and corporate activities. This position reports to the President of Street Legal Industries and is 100% on-site. Street Legal is currently seeking a Construction Manager to join our team in Aiken, SC. The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects to ensure successful delivery in terms of safety, quality, schedule, and cost. This role oversees all phases of construction and serves as a key interface between field operations, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate has strong experience in complex, highly regulated environments, particularly within Department of Energy (DOE) facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of construction management experience
  • Previous experience working at the Savannah River Nuclear Site
  • Demonstrated experience managing union employees and administering collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
  • Strong experience in construction contract management, including negotiation, execution, and compliance
  • Experience in business development with the Federal Government, including supporting capture efforts, proposal development, or identifying and developing new federal opportunities
  • Strong understanding of construction practices, safety protocols, and project execution
  • Proven ability to manage complex construction projects in regulated environments
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Active DOE Q Clearance
  • General Contractor’s License in the state of South Carolina
  • Experience supporting DOE or other federal government projects
  • Familiarity with federal contracting requirements, including compliance and reporting standards

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day construction operations across assigned projects
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget
  • Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel, including union labor
  • Manage and enforce compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and coordinate effectively with union representatives and trade organizations
  • Ensure compliance with labor agreements, jurisdictional rules, and workforce requirements
  • Enforce compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and contractual obligations
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Manage project schedules, cost controls, and resource allocation
  • Lead coordination meetings and provide progress updates to clients and leadership
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, change order processes, and contract execution
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
