About The Position

Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Waco, TX. We are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, clear communication, and a willingness to jump in where needed. Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a PIV badge.
  • This position requires passing an extensive background check.
  • This position requires regular onsite construction activity.
  • Ability to routinely walk active construction sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while performing inspections and observing construction activities.
  • Ability to climb stairs and access different areas of a construction project.
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain, temporary walkways, construction areas, and partially completed spaces.
  • Ability to carry or transport inspection materials, documents, drawings, and field equipment as reasonably required.
  • Ability to occasionally work in environments involving dust, noise, vibration, temperature variations, construction materials, and other normal construction-site conditions, subject to applicable safety controls.
  • Ability to use a computer/tablet and standard office equipment for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move between office and construction areas throughout the workday.
  • Ability to analyze construction schedules and identify potential impacts to milestones, phasing, workflow, deliveries, and testing.
  • Ability to remain professional and objective when dealing with disputes or disagreements in the field.
  • Ability to manage multiple construction issues simultaneously.
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Engineering or a closely related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of construction management experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of construction management experience.
  • Experience performing construction inspections, documenting deficiencies, identifying nonconforming work, and tracking corrective actions.
  • Experience managing, tracking, coordinating, and reviewing construction submittals, shop drawings, and working drawings.
  • Ability to support cost estimates, review change proposals, and document construction changes.
  • Valid Real-ID state-issued driver's license
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner
  • Excellent and accurate written communication
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required
  • Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
  • Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic
  • Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of submittal reviews and management of the submittal process including maintenance of submittal register
  • Review submittals on behalf of the VHA to ensure that the proposed materials and methods comply with the project specifications, VA standards and codes, and VA Medical Center requirements
  • Document, track, monitor, and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and responses
  • Review and monitor project schedules with an emphasis on milestone completion dates, phasing requirements, workflow, material deliveries, and test dates
  • Provide field verification of as-built drawings and updates of as-built drawings
  • Perform inspections of construction as work proceeds, taking action to identify work to the COR that does not conform to the contract requirements, and notifying the COR when work is thought to require correction, and troubleshooting
  • Compile, through site inspections, lists of defects and omissions related to the work performed and provide these lists to the COR for determination of the need for correction
  • Deliverables shall include observation reports, lists of defects and omissions, modification narratives, sketches, and drawings, as required
