About The Position

RK&K is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead Construction Inspection (CI) Teams on complex highway and bridge projects across the Harrisburg, Allentown, and Scranton regions. This leadership role involves overseeing construction inspection staff, managing client agreements, cultivating strong client relationships, and driving business growth initiatives within the region. The position also includes serving as a Construction Management Project Administrator on select projects to support the expansion of RK&K's Construction Inspection (CEI) services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction inspection or construction management on heavy highway and bridge projects.
  • At least 4 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Experience with PennDOT and/or the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, staff, and project stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the region as required.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • NICET Level 3 or higher in Transportation / Highway Construction
  • E.I.T. or P.E. license
  • Contractor, Inspection, or Management experience on PennDOT projects.

Responsibilities

  • Drive regional growth through client relationship development, teaming strategies, market expansion efforts, and effective utilization of technical resources.
  • Support business development efforts through client engagement, proposal preparation, and the pursuit of construction inspection opportunities.
  • Coordinate with company leadership on strategic business development initiatives and project pursuits.
  • Manage construction inspection consultant agreements, budgets, labor utilization, contract modifications, and supplemental agreements.
  • Serve as a Construction Management Project Administrator on selected projects and assignments.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to multiple construction inspection teams within the assigned region.
  • Assign inspection staff to projects based on qualifications, workload, project requirements, and client needs.
  • Conduct periodic field visits and perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews of inspection personnel and project documentation.
  • Review inspector reports and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Monitor staff performance, productivity, training needs, and professional development.
  • Promote the consistent application of company procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of construction inspection personnel.
